Next Pittsburgh: Rock the River & The Park all Summer Long

One of the region’s newest public parks has just launched its own free summer concert series.

Rock the River is giving residents even more reasons to hang out in the 10-acre Aspinwall park that boasts amenities like walking trails, kayaking, native gardens, fitness classes, live theater, camps, and a new fishing dock.

Rocking the Allegheny under the stars on July 15 will be The Early Mays. WYEP’s 2014 Artists of the Year, the trio blends uplifting harmonies, Appalachian roots and original folk tunes.

Bringing the Caribbean vibes August 19 will be the Barrels to Beethoven steel pan band. Closing out the series September 6 will be the electric six-piece band, Brahctopus.
